1955 Corvette Radio Speaker

Hey Roy! What is the 12 volt speaker setup for 1955? Is it like the 56 style, transisterized unit??

The 55 speaker was similar to the later one, but only similar. The power pack is attached, in the sam e manner, but the exact design is unique to the 55. When I had my speaker reconed, the guy knew immedialtely what it was, without my telling him.

I took a picture of the speaker in the DUntov 55/56 today. It looks like your picture, except the cone had been replaced at some time.

As you know they were a dark brown, but who cares! by the way did you buy it?

No. I had to pass. It's just not in good enough shape and I can't restore it for a couple more years. I have five 53's in line for frame offs right now. It would drive me crazy to have it sitting there needing restored. Just couldn't do it. The 53's have to trake priority. If it ws nicer, I could deal with having it sit there. Just my own psychosis working on me. I made an offer but haven't heard anything yet. I can't imagine that Terry would accept it though.
