    63 master cylinder date

I tried a search with no success and the JG was unclear on the dating system for master cylinders of 1963's. Was the letter "I" used.?? The unit in question I am looking at is K 29 2 Thanks.

    Re: 63 master cylinder date

The dating convention is pretty straight forward... When dates were applied with stamping tools (load a gang with individual letter/numbers), the letter 'I' wasn't used because it looked too much like the numeral one. When dates were embossed (insert loaded into the mold), the letter I WAS used.

On your MC, the dating was done by way of emboss vs. stamp, so "I" was used...
