C1 WCFB carb question

Over on CF.com, a topic about WCFB carbs came up and a picture was posted that shows screws in the side center casting of a WCFB for checking the float level in the carb. When were these introduced and/or eliminated?

I was the one , I know 55 to 57 for sure have them for later ? But anyway when you remove the screws the gas should just be at the bottom of the screws hole ( no gas flowing out) , done this on many Carbs for owners , if the floats were set correct .if gas is still coming out then the needle and seat are leaking like you said it was. It's just a simple way to check the float level while running at idle.
Same thing checking the fuel meetering rods( take the front top cover off loosen the screw lock to let the meetering rods to be pulled all the way down while idling then tighten the screw).
By the way add the by-pass bushing tube to keep the Carbs from flooding on left turns.

Thanks, Roy. I kinda knew it was you....not many guys have a 1955 copper Vette with a bubbletop!!! Beautiful set of wheels. Thanks for the info. I know my carbs have the brass bypass bushing to keep the carbs from flooding. I've rebuilt many carbs over the years and have always enjoyed the Holley side plugs for setting the float level. I wonder why they took them off the 59 and later WCFB's? Seems like a great feature to get the floats correct. Thanks again and keep the accessories coming.

Thanks 59 was the last year? dint know when, there were many ways back then how we fix our cars. Like running water down the Carb to knock off Carbon.
