Joe, Whats the best way to ID bolts (markings, finish) I would like to replace bolts at various locations on my 1970 with correct bolts.

It's very difficult to do. Most PRODUCTION fasteners were not available in SERVICE, so, most of the time, I usually can't come up with specs on them. Beyond that, even with original specs, it won't identify the particular manufacturer. Those varied, even during the period of your car's manufacture , let alone later.
About all you can do is to use those reference available that document observed fasteners for certain applications during certain model years. Paragon has a chart available, there are some references in Vette Vues Fact Books, and Joe Tripoli's Chassis Restoration book has quite a few listed. Still, you're not going to find all the fasteners used on your car with all details of each anywhere.
