67 big block

I have recently purchased a 67 BB 390hp and would like to know if anyone can tell me if they know what the following numbers mean on the engine block.
The GM build sheet states that the production date of the car was
April 28,1967
Engine 427/390,
Production Plant St. Louis,MO
small last portion of the serial # is 7116983
Large portion of the number is TC410IL

Hoping the engine matches the car.

The TC is probably TO (for Tonawanda, where block was cast) and the following numbers would mean that the engine was assembled on April 10th. The IL means 390 hp 427. Your car's birthday is April 25th 1967. Looks like everything is OK so far. Is the VIN of your car 16,983? Is the block have a casting number ending in 351? What is the body build date of the car and is a "S" body car?

Jim. The first numbers should match the vin # of your car. The second numbers are the build date and engine code. You wrote TC 410 IL. Are you sure its not TO 410 IL. That would be TO ( tonawanda engine plant ) 4 10 ( forth month, tenth day, april 10th ) IL ( 427 - 390 h.p. engine code ) . That sounds right for your car being built april ,28th. Hope this helps.
