    69 jack repair

Is there anone repairing original jacks? The base of my jack is VERY rusted and I think needs to be replaced. Can anone replace the long ( about 3 inches) that hold the base on or does is there a way to do it myself?

    Re: 69 jack repair

Do not have information to repair your 69's jack. I saw in the automotive section of my local WAL-MART a scissor style jack, "similiar" to my C3's jack. What really caught my attention was that it is packaged in a GM product box. If someone did not have a scissor jack and needed a jack until an original replacement could be purchased, this new one cost was less than $15.00, might of been $12 and change do not remember the exact price. Right beside the scissor jack boxes was another GM jack, this was a 2 ton floor jack for about $25.00.

These jacks will work fine. However, don't confuse them with jacks available through the GM parts system. They are mass-marketed jacks that are unrelated to GMSPO SERVICE jacks to replace PRODUCTION jacks. These are just more use of the GM name and trademark to "increase buyer confidence" in a product.

If you have an early '69, you could go after this one on E-Bay........
