1957 Corvette - Jam Handy - Film Strips

Joe T. and I teamed up to digitize two 1957 Corvette Jam Handy Film Strips. Joe had the Jam Handy 57 Corvette record and I had the 57 Corvette film. We posted the digital versions to my website. The two Jam Handy films are named:

    1. Pleasure Package - aimed at customers.

    2. Profit Package - aimed at dealers and salesmen.

The films talk about fuel injection a bit, but do not show an actual FI unit. The films are entertaining and enlightening nonetheless. We posted Windows and Mac versions of the films. Please let me know if you have any issues watching or downloading the films.

My favorite slide appears below. Somebody had a sense of humor, apparently.

    Thanks

That was great really enjoyed it , talked T-bird down badly and the two four Carb engine they showed as a 57 was a early 56 engine. Also the base Corvette having black walls. Just love the words they used .

I also have the projector with built in record player. would you be willing to do the same thing with the 70 filmstrip. I would send you the box. Please let me know. I have had this for 20 years but have been afraid to try an run the film.

                        Russ,

I had visited my in-laws about 1985 in Arcadia/Eureka and went north for a drive to the Jed Smith Natl forest. On the way we passed a gas station out in the boonies that had about 2 dozen solid axle vettes in various conditions parked all in a row. It was on the main road, 101? Would you have any knowledge of that cache of early vettes? there has to be a story there! That view has been burned into my mind. Looked to be more of a collection than a business and all right out in the open.

Great website, thanks for the info!

                        Thanks,
                        Joe

Sure, I can convert the 1970 stuff. I will send you an email.

You made a good decision to not run your 70 Corvette film strip thru the projector. The first time I ran a film thru my projector, the projector scratched the film up quite a bit. I took everything apart on the projector and put things back correctly, and now it works fine.

If you want to run your projector, do this - try a film and record that has no value. Like a film on the truck chassis. Run it thru a few times, and see if it gets scratched or otherwise damaged. If not, your projector is probably safe to use for a Corvette film strip.
