C1 Spark Plug Wire "S" Clips

There's "S" clips attached to the oil pan cap screws that hold the forward cylinder spark plug wires close to the block where they pass behind the exhaust manifolds.

I've got some orange ones, semi-gloss black ones, and unpainted ones. What color are they supposed to be?

On a production engine, they were orange, as they were in place when the engine was painted. The separate replacement clips in a box are dark phosphate.
