was "U.S Royal one inch whitewall 775-15 one of the original equipment tires offered? I found a spare and correct type steel wheel in my 65 and not sure if it is correct or not

U.S. Royal Laredo 7.75-15 whitewalls were available as an option in '65. If your tire is original it will not have DOT numbers on it.

mike: it does not have any dot reference on it. just to understand right would it say dot anywhere are just say dot with no #'s following thanks!

whether its an original or a repo( ie, presence of DOT) it ought to have a alpha-numeric stamping on the back side of the sidewall near the tire-rim interface. mike

Darren,

To illustrate Mike's point, here is a picture of the tire serial number off the back of the US Royal Safety 800 I have for my spare. Note there is no DOT prefix before this number. Later tires have the DOT designator.
