    71 LS6

Hey guys...my friend is considering the 71 Orange LS6 that Proteam has and asked me to put a question on the board to see if anyone is familiar with the car? Also can anyone recommend a qualified person to inspect it for him. He is not a NCRS member yet, so I am posting this for him. THanks in advance.

    Re: 71 LS6

    Chris,
Chuck Berge would be a knowledgeable person to inspect a LS6. He is a former 70-72 Team Leader, and has a couple of listings in 'The Driveline'.
    Regards,

Chuck is a very straight up guy! You may not want to here what he has to say or love the info but it will be an honest look with no hidden adgendas.
He is a very knowledgable person. Thad

I agree with the comments on Chuck Berge, great guy. Another person that is super knowledgable on LS6s is Warren F. who posts on this board. He has survey info on LS6s and really knows them very well.
        Regards,

Steve, thanks for the kind words!

          Chris,

I know this car pretty well. It has had a body off restoration, originally sold from Doran Chevrolet out of Dallas, TX. The car was consigned to the auction at Bloomington Gold in 2006. It was bid to 132.5K but didn't meet reserve at the time. The owner then consigned the car to Mecums auction, where ProTeam was the winning bid at 120K.

Originally sold from Doran Chevrolet in Dallas, TX. The car is equiped with M22, 3:70 drivetrain. Ontario orange with saddle custom interior. Car has a luggage rack. Options ordered on car are N40, J50, A31, N37, UA6, U69/79. Car has partial original window invoice, Dealer Order form for docs. Incorrect items on car were wrong rocker arm covers, wrong smog pump, service dated water pump and serviced dated carburetor.

The car has an issue with the engine pad surface and stamping. It is not a restamp but has been altered somewhat.
