    24 gallon fiberglass tank

    What years was this option available and how many cars per year were delivered with this option.

    Does anyone have any personal knowledge about these tanks?

      1959, 1960 and 1961 Corvettes had the 24 gallon gas tank as an option. C1 curmudgeon Dennis Clark will surely weigh in with the number of cars so equipped. He owns at least two of them that I have seen.

                  It's 60, 61 and 62, rather than 59-61. I've owned two, plus a 36-gallon solid-axle (how many of you can say that?)--let me know if I can help.

                          It would seem that my source, The Genuine Corvette Black Book, 1953-1996, is fallible for on page 33, which addresses options for the 1959, code 1625, 24 Gallon Fuel Tank, is listed in conjunction with the following note: "*LPO 1625 required the hardtop without soft top because the fuel tank occupied part of the folding to storage area." I did, however, neglect to include the 1962 cars with code 488, a 24 gallon gas tank.
