    Re: E-Bay Humor

It's me. I was going to post it was me, here on the TDB but you beat me to it.....

I get these crazy ideas sometimes to make a point. What better way of trying to sell the most stupid thing I could come up with before I had my coffee. I'm so fed up with the hoopla going on when I look at stuff for sale that I wanted to make a point. Not meant to be a mockery of any kind, of NCRS or Bloomington, owners, judges, restorers, etc. It's meant in a comical way to open some eyes to try to get back to some sense of sensibility in this hobby of ours. Things are getting totally out of control. I'm betting people will bid on it to help my point and show even more how stupid things are getting.

I totally agree with you. Prices are crazy, and the televised auctions are not helping our hobby one bit. I've seen this happen before but never to this extent. I feel sorry for young oeople trying to get interested in Corvette's. If they are lucky enough to have deep pockets they better find a new hobby. Just the opinion of one old fart.

Rich you the man , I just love your e-bay listing , but it ant never going to change what's happening . I notice it more in the C2 world , having a C1 now looks like a poor mans Corvette. For better or worse NCRS and Bloomington awards are driving it making buyers think THOSE Corvettes are dead on original. Da! I think the average (hobbyist) that "loves" his or her Corvette is more real original , that planes to keep it and may or not have any awards.

                Rich,
My '61 came with wide whites. I'm thinking of using blackwalls and some period correct mags. Will this air work with this setup? Cheers

OMG that's the best one I've seen in a long time....it actually motivated me to let ALL the air out of my wife's Tahoe, my truck, and my '70 and '71 Vettes and bottle them for future keeping. I put the reservoirs in the safety deposit box I have at our bank, and hopefully in 20 years or so I can sell them and put my son through college. My question is....messy as it may be, will 20 year old Calcium Chloride that I have in the rear tires of my John Deere ever have a appreciative resale value? I mean, it's a wonderful traction aiding device, and I'm sure the FDA or somebody will probably ban its use, making it in the same league as lacquer paint!!! You have started a whole new way of thinking for me!! Thank you for the clairvoyancy!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!

I'll have to take exception to his description.

I think the product will work perfectly in my 1963 too.

                          :-)
