She's Entering Her SWC in Sportsman!

My wife Cathie decided to put her newly acquired '63 coupe in the Sportsman display at the Winter Regional. I contacted the 63 team leader and he said he'd be happy to inspect it for Bowtie consideration, so she said "Ok, let's bring it!". Since we're only a few hours away, I'll be driving my '59 and she'll drive her '63 up to Kissimmee together on Thursday morning. It'll be hard to keep up with her. Her 327/300 is much faster than my 283/270!

Just finished buffing out the tired old paint on the her car last night, and recently fixed a few things that needed attention. Hopefully it'll be ok for the trip. Somehow I need to stay away from the 63 so I can finish up prep on my 59!

We're looking forward to see everyone there, and seeing some of you who we met for the first time at the Nationals in Lake Placid, NY over ten years ago!

    Happy Holidays......
    Cathie & Rich

      why not flight judge????

Why not try flight judging the car? It really gives you an opportunity to here from the judges that ultimately could judge you at the nationals.

I am having my 1965 396 judged at NOVI and then hopefully Bowtie in the summer.

Yes, and to qualify for Bowtie it essentially "has to" go through Flight Judging first to be evaluated.

You might as well do it, assuming they still have room for you in that judging class.

          Re: why not flight judge????

          Hi Keith,

That thought never came to mind. The car is very original and we're not planning a restoration anytime soon. It has many issues that I feel wouldn't make a Flight candidate(paint issues, aftermarket items, condition, etc). We just got the car earlier this month. We weren't even considering Bowtie possibilities until several folks here suggested to after seeing the pictures and info. This, plus I think we would have been too late to register for Flight anyways. And I'm trying to get my 59 the best I can for it's Flight "test". Don't know if you saw earlier posts about it...here they are so you can see some of the issues:

          Thanks for the thought,
          Rich
