    PCV Hose Clamp

I'm putting the finishing touches on my 66 base engine and notice that the AIM does not show a clamp supporting the hose that connects the oil filler tube through the PCV to the side of the carb. The Dobbin's book for 63-67 has some excellent engine compartment pictures and it shows a clamp that is bolted to an intake manifold bolt on the right side that supports the hose. The 327/350 hp enginedoes not have a clamp. The Long Island Corvette catalog does not list a clamp for a 66 base engine but ZIP does. ZIP akso shows that the hose should actually contain a preformed 90 deg. elbow where it enters the carb. I'm inclined to believe ZIP and intend to order a hose and clamp fromthem.

    Dave -

Don't know about '66, but the '65 A.I.M. shows an existing clip (from the engine plant) from an intake manifold bolt for the PCV hose in the base engine section (UPC 6, Sheet C3).

        Re: PCV Hose Clamp

The 65 engine is different from the 66. The carb on a 65 is a Carter AFB while that of my 66 is a Holley. The PCV and distrib. vac advance between the two are different such that the 65 AIM is not applicable to the 66 engine.

          Dave -

I believe Robert's post just above your last one says that the clamp in question shows in the '66 A.I.M. in the base engine section, which is your application -

Dave - Robert is correct. Two clamps and the '66 base motor PCV hose is a pre-formed hose. Pete
