I know this topic has been addressed, but would like some opinions on this pad stamp. It's on a 67 small block. The last five digits of the VIN are 21197. It appears it got stamped with 21196, then restamped with 21197. Could this have happened at the factory? The car seems to be unmolested. Does the stamp look legit? Any thoguhts would be appreciated. Thank you,
I had a 73 base motor convertible that had the very same thing. The last digit was an overstamp, changing a 8 to a 7. The transmission had the same overstamp. Most likely factory.
