    63 armrests

    Does anyone know how to refinish the "chrome like" coating on the plastic portion of the armrests? Mine are beginnig to peel and chip. Thanks

      The process is called 'VACUUM METALLIZING" and several vendors can do it, ads under "Services" in Hemmings among others. The armrest base is the same I believe as the GTO used and is available from a number of Corvette and Musclecar parts vendors, probably for less money than yours would cost to replate.

          clup's response is correct. not only GTO, but chevy/corvairs of the early 60's used the same "chrome" plated arm rest bases and i've seen repos in the chevy club mags as well as hemmings.mike
