61 PILOT CAR
I HAVE SERIAL NUMBER 00013. IT HAS A GREASE PENCIL #1 UNDER THE DASHPAD AND ON TOP OF THE FIBERGLASS. THE DASH CLUSTER HAS A GREASE PENCIL #1 WRITTEN INSIDE. CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT THIS SIGNIFIES. IS IT THE 1ST BIG BRAKE FUEL CAR MADE, OR DOES IT MEAN THAT MY HIGH HORSE CLUSTER MATCHES THAT DASH?? IS #1 THE BUILD NUMBER??

Joel,

I think that's the build number, 1 of 500, that they used on the assy line. Maybe just coincidence that sn13 is where the build started over agian.

Number 1 is the job number. Starting in 1956, at the beginning of the years production, the first body was numder 1. the number increased -2,3,4,etc up to 500. then the numbers started over at one.
