Midyear Roadster W/S Molding Clip Oddity

Was installing the clips for the lower W/S stainless molding, working from the middle out. When I got to the outermost clip -- the screw bound up. What the heck? What about the other side? Same thing.

Looking at the original holes, the two end ones are visibly a smaller diameter.

OK, let's dig out the AIM and see what it says about a different screw on the ends. Dial back to Section F and sure enough - the page for the roadster is BLANK! Cotton pickin' M*d Am****a!

So, before enlarging the end holes to accept the same screw that the other 9 clips take -- I thought I'd post this and win the "most arcane question of the day" award.

Can not help much except to say - if a smaller screw was used there and you do have good evidence that it was (the hole itself), it was done for a reason such as clearance. I would go with a smaller screw since once drilled out its too late.
    Additionally nobody will see it.
Sure many others have run into this area so wait for some knowlegeable feedback before drilling.

Mike I pulled my orginal windshield out this year and reinstalled all new screws and clips and all my holes were the same size.

          Thanks Allen & Pete

I'll probably end up enlarging the holes to take the standard screw. Too bad my #&!!**%$## AIM had a blank page for this assy. step. Then I could see if a different screw was called out for the end clips.
