Correct Application for 1960 C-1 Heads?

What is the application for the the following pairs of heads:

    3782461 X E 33 GM
    3774692 L 309 GM

When I purchased my 1960 FI, I received both pairs. My engine has a casting date of L 139 and assembled in FI22CS. I have had both totally machined and put back together, but I am not sure which set to use. Please advise.
    Thanks!

    Steve -

I don't have a '60 JG, but the Spec Guide calls out the 692's for 1960 engines; those you noted, however, were cast after your engine was assembled, although head dates aren't judged - only the casting symbols. The Spec Guide calls out the 461's for '61-'66.

      Steve,

      The 461 heads are May 3, 1963, suitable for a 63 Corvette
the 692 heads are the correct castings for your 60 Corvette.
The dates on the head L309 is Dec 30 of 59, the block is Dec 13 59, so those dates line up.
Please verify the build stamp on the engine. It would have to be built after Dec 13. It could be Jan 22 1960 but that is longer than I would expect.

The Rarest of the Rare - but I WIN!

A Solemn Day indeed. The Hincster has erred, but that results in free Bloody Marys for Verle and myself at the Vettehead's Flag raising ceremony at Carlisle.
Verle is dead on with the casting date/assembly diagnosis.
Both Verle and I will be off the board until 2008 - we suspect The Big Guy is setting us up for some really bad news.......

          Yup, I mis-read F122CS as F1222CS - CRS has now been joined by CSS (can't see sh#%)

              Not a problem - I'll BUY. Especially since I

              will have already paid.

I get to increase my NCRS Judging Rank

from -1 to -2! All without having to listen to a guy 31 years old say "Well when the 1961's first appeared, the ones I saw were ....."
