I am in the process of changing king pins in my 62 and have one of the spindles off. After cleaning and inspecting it, I found the bottom has a slight groove at the inner race. I haven't fitted the race on it to see how much play there is. The groove is very slight, but can be felt with my fingernail. Probably .001 or less.
I know Loctite used to make a product to hold races on worn shafts, and have used the product successfully in an industrial application. Would this be a good idea on the spindle? Anyone got any other suggestions? I really don't think it's bad enough to weld up and turn back down.
