Is their a way to ID the drier, to tell if its orginal. I'm currently rebuilding the 1970 a/c system.

Re: C3 A/C Drier
No, there are no identifying marks to prove this dryer shipped with this car from the factory. All you need do is make the existing dryer agree with known original attributes for the era and the JG books do a reasonable job of detailing these.
They consist of the dryer having the correct length/depth to match the Corvette bracketry (there were other similar dryers for bigger cabin cars that were significantly longer), the sight glass is positioned correctly (offset from center vs. centered like those used on mid-year cars), external finish is correct (painted black), and installation is correct (Corvette used an upper holding bracket with an extension arm that held the top side of the dryer in the correct orientation to view the sight glass.- Top

Re: C3 A/C Drier
I believe that originals had a round paper sticker (dot) placed ont he bottom before they were painted black. When the sticker falls off there is an aluminum circle exposed. It can only be seen while laying on the ground, but occasionally some of us need a rest.
And to answer your next question, no I don't know the size, and don't have an example to measure.Terry- Top
