Rocker panel installation on a '63.

On the '63s do the rocker panels slide (front-to-back or back-to-front) on to the retainer strips? Or, do they 'snap' over the top of the retainers?

When I took them off, the retainers were so rusted that I had to slide them off (using a mallet to encourage them).

    Thanks,

    Gary

I just had the rockers off my 62, and they installed from the top. The lip just sort of slides behind the retainer strip, and then the screws hold them in place. I wouldn't say they "snaped", but rather just slides into place. I believe the 63's are constructed the same way.

Pull the bottom away enough to clear the retainer struts, then push up and it should pop off the top retaining strip.
