    1980 Alarm information

The 1980 alarm system does not have a timed cycle once it is triggered,it will continue to sound until manually disarmed or the battery goes dead.At least that is what my friend who owns the car informs me.If this is true,is there a timer system from another year that could be used?Is there an alarm relay with a timer possibly? Is there a timed cycle on 1981s or 82s? Thanks Craig

There was a timer for 81-82. It shows up in the NCRS performance verification test. I thought my late production 80 had a timer as I seem to remember it shutting off after a while but it could be just one of those Deja-brain moments I have had lately. I had a problem with mine a while back and never looked into it. Just pulled the fuse and motored on. Some alarm?!?!
