    Leaking windshield

    Hello,

I am in the process of changing the windshield rubber on my '65 conv. to prevent it from leaking. There is a little rust on the lower windshield frame, but nothing to be very concerned about. My question is: How can I make sure that there will be no more leaks from behind the dashboard and glovebox whenever I wash my car? Anyone out there who allready has tackled this job and would share his or her experience with me?

P.S. I do have both the shop-manuel and assembly manuel and read some articles about the subject.

    Thank you!

Follow advice in shop manual and thourougly caulk between the glass rubber and the birdcage frame once the glass is in. If you watched prior thread, you know there's an issue with trying to re-use the original rubber and also know the factory original installation used grey caulk in roll vs. today's squeeze tube RTV silicon based adhesive. The older caulk dries, get brittle and cracks out....

Thank you for the info, Jack. I started tonight(Netherlands, Europe). One thing keeps on bothering me, though. How about sealing the SS.trim around the windshield? Was this done with the caulking compound in roll you were refering to? I do have 3M 08568 Auto sealer. is this the same thing?
