hi all - on page K190 of the 1970 AIM, are the brackets that bolt "7" goes through welded to the crossmember? - or do they separate once unbolted from part "5" (bracket trans mtg)? - the reason i ask is i unbolted each...one came off the cross member - the other appears welded on - thanks!! - stephen

Re: 1970 - Bracket - Trans. Mtg.
The brackets were welded to the crossmember when the frame was made, and are considered an integral part of the frame. It appears your frame requires a minor weld repair...It'll help if you have a wire feed MIG welder and know how to lay a nice bead.
If the bracket had been assembled to the frame at the assembly plant, it would have a separate part number listed on this sheet, or another sheet detailing any frame assmembly...and there is none. If it was bolt-on part provided with the frame assembly, it would have been identified with a square symbol with a diagonal line through the square, and the lower half of the square colored...you'll see these symbols throughout the AIM for bolt-on parts provided with assemblies.- Top

It's also helpful to refer to Assembly Manual sheets by the UPC Group number and Sheet number at the bottom of the page instead of by the "page" number; there are several different reproduction versions of the manual, copied/printed by different vendors who applied their own "page" numbers, so they're different from one vendor's manual to another. Using the UPC Group number and Sheet number makes a common reference for finding the same page regardless which vendor supplied the manual.- Top
