I forgot to mention before I pressed POST that all coupes, convertibles, Z06s use the same variation of that VIN for the model years.

Prior to the new ZR-1 all Corvettes model/engine combinations drew from the same pool of sequence numbers, beginning with 00001, but the sequence number prefix characters identify the specific model/engine going back to circa 1972 and model (coupe or convertible) back to '63.

The use of a specific pool of sequence numbers for a specific model, ZR-1 in this case, is the first time this has ever been done on Corvettes as far as I know.

It's the third time.
The first time was the 1978 Pace Cars.
Second time was 90-95 ZR-1s.

So, there is precedence, especially with ZR-1s.

The 1978 was the first Corvette to sport both a unique digit and separate sequential number series going from 900001 to 906502. Next came the ZR1s of the 90's. Now the 95 Pace Car had a separate series but than all convertibles were considered Pace cars with decals in the trunk.

THEY SCREW UP WITH NAMING THE Z06

Now they going to screw up the ZR1 name. These cars are in a class of their own and should have their own separate identity. Its a really a joke!! My two cents Phil 8063 I cant wait for the new AIR BOX 579E option.
