Look what I found cleaning the engine compartment of my '62 Corvette. This is on the driver's side of the engine side of the engine compartment firewall. This was last seen around December 19, 1961. Get a good look because it'll be disappearing again. May never be seen again. Certainly not in my lifetime. I'm going to prep better than they did in St. Louis and paint over it.

Re: Job Number on Firewall
Nice find Chris. I found mine in the trunk(written upside down) of my Sept build 62, and will be looking for it at the firewall when I get to tear into it. My JN is 467, car #483.

Chris, and Rich
Do you plan on replacing the numbers when you get it striped? I replaced every crayon mark, even though you'll never see it again, in case 40 years from now my great grandson does a body off.

Thanks for your interest, Jim.

Re: Job Number on Firewall
Kevin, I'm hoping to leave the original crayon marks alone and work around them. I'm not planning to chemical strip. My plan is to sand. PO of 35 years gave it a coat of white latex house paint every 5 years to keep it "freshened up".
