I purchased a 69 corvette online from this individual. His name is Andy Thomas from Lebanon In. His ebay address is 62impala60corvette. Allthough his ad stated "Original matching numbers drivetrain", the transmission turned out to be from a 65. The rotted out windshield frame was not disclosed. After promising to send the title 3 times, I have yet to receive it. There were numerous other details about the car which I won't even bother to discuss. This man is totally dishonest. After contacting the Lebanon In. police dept, I found out this was not his debut at this sort of thing. He has refused to remedy the situation. Hopefully by posting this, we can prevent this from happening to another unsuspecting corvette purchaser. Mark

Re: Watch out for this corvette salesman
Sorry to hear about your bad deal. Looks like this guy has quite a few really bad sounding negative feedback responses for other car sales as well. It does look like a nice car in the pictures though. Good luck to you.- Top

Re: Watch out for this corvette salesman
Windshield frame rust can be difficult to view with the windshield trim on the car. I did not know I had it on my original owner 70 until I took it to a professional windshield replacement shop in DEC 1985. There was no indication of rust inside the car on the vertical framing like on the drivers side where the VIN is located. I had seen rust here on other C3's. I saw the frame rust when the windshield trim and windshield was removed. The top horizontal windshield framing had rusted through. On the C3 Corvettes you can have no rust perferation of the windshield framing and still have water leak path to inside the car. There are two fiberglass supports that mount to the the lower portion of the windshield framing below each bottom corner of the windshield. This support is attached to the top portion of the fiberglass fender of the just in front of the upper portion of the door opening. They can be seen when the hood is open. The metal windshield framing that this fiberglass support is rivetted to has a hole about 1 1/4inches in diameter that is covered by the fiberglass support. You cannot see the hole from inside the car because this portion of the framing has a double wall which is the metal you see from inside the car. Water runs from the windshild and across the fiberglass support to a drain trough. Not all the water runs around the fiberglass support and travels underneath the fiberglass support and ends up inside the car. When I replaced the rusted windshield framing the brand new replacement pieces I bought from GM in 1986 was still manufactured as a double walled piece and the hole was in the top piece just like the original one on my 70. I had the holes welded closed before I attached the fiberglass fender support. I also caulked the surrounding edges of the fiberglass piece to prevent water intrusion on the top and sides. I used all new parts and replaced the upper horizional piece, two upper corners, the two lower corners. My two vertical frames were in good shape. No more drippings on the floor mats and drips coming from the rearview mirror area on my 70. Are you going to take Andy to court?- Top

Re: Watch out for this corvette salesman
Here in Southern Ohio we watch out for Corvettes coming out of central Kentucky.
This car was ACTUALLY out of Lebanon Kentucky, not Lebanon, Indiana.
They typically are poor quality cars or ones stripped of good parts, etc.
There are a number of sellers listing cars for one guy who seems to dig up lots of early Corvettes. BUYER BEWARE...- Top
