water pump - thread sealant for plug?

I'm replacing the water pump - can I use teflon tape on the threads of the plug where the heater hose would attach, or should I use something else?

Teflon tape will work fine. However, if you're having the car judged, you'll want to make sure that none of the tape is externally visible. This is easy to do. Just put the tape on about the rear 1/4" of the fitting threads. If judging is not an issue, apply the tape as you normally would to any pipe fitting.

Does the smaller diameter fitting go into the water pump or the larger one.Thanks

Ken -

The fitting in the water pump is for the 3/4" hose, and the fitting in the intake manifold is for the 5/8" hose.
