The A212CW repro air filters have just come back into production but at a price almost double what they used to be. Has anyone found this to be the case? A212CW fits all 66 SB and BB engines and I assume other midyear engines.
The AC 212CW is applicable to 1965 L-78 and most 1966-69 except 3 X 2 and L-88/ZL-1. It's also applicable to many 1970-72. It was not used on a Corvette after 1972. However, it was used on MANY other Chevrolets in the 65-72 period.
it is my understanding that there were several variations to this filter. Some were debossed (ac logo) while others were embossed or stamped into the filter. Who is advertising them????
Yes, definitely. There were several variations involving printing/embossment on the plastisol ends of the filter as well as configuration of the steel mesh screen surrounding the filter. In fact, the AC 212CW is still available from GM to this day. The current "version" is not exactly like any of those originally used. However, as far as I'm concerned, it's close enough.
