    '66 Pulleys

I have a basic '66 327/300 roadster with single groove crankshaft and water
pump pulleys. It is not equipped with AIR nor any other feature which would
require a another belt and groove. The AIM depicts what I believe to be a
single groove configuration. However, the Judging Manual (page 85) calls for
two grooves on both pulleys for the base engine. Can anyone verify my
configuration before I embark on a possible needless replacement?

    Thank you.

    Stan------

The original crankshaft pulley for your car was GM #3755820. This is a 1 groove pulley of 6-3/4" OD. It is still available from GM for a current list of $32.50.

The original water pump pulley for your car was GM #3788472. This is a 1 groove pulley of 7-1/8" OD. This pulley was discontinued in April, 1967 and replaced by pulley GM #3905595. The latter pulley is still available from GM for $61.24 GM list.

Stan - Hopefully, the pulleys you currently have are "correct." Joe has provided the P/N information. I checked the two pulleys for my base motor '66 and the H2O pump pulley is stamped 3755820BC and the crank balance pulley is stamped 3788472CG and both pulleys are single groove. Also, there should be a reinforcement on the outside face of the H2O pump pulley. So, it looks like we need to update the '66 TIM&JG. Pete
