Re: vacuum metalizing
Try Paul's Chrome Plating. I was watching a show last Sunday where they were showing how they chrome plastic and how much better/more durable their process is than the original.

Re: vacuum metalizing
Try M&P Refinishing M&P = metal and plastic plating. Family operation. Super work and rather fast turn around compared to most platers. I hear they do a lot of the work for the more famous platers around. ssshhh.
Talk to Don, Gary, or John Kerlin 724-527-6360. They have been plating my FI parts now for about 20 years. 212 South Fifth Street, Jeannette, PA 15644
They just moved to this location. Old location was a few blocks away.
One time x number of years ago I went on a tour to their shop with an AACA chapter. While there one of the guys spotted all his parts from a Packard he was restoring .Another big time plating company was using M&P as a sub-contractor. Jack said to the Kerlin brothers. What are you doing with my parts. The brothers were red faced as it's supposed to be a big secret.
So around this area most all of us use M&P. Beautiful show chrome. Amazing pot metal refinishing. Usual prices. Example. I just had the following pieces replated for a customers 63 FI unit. Just got the parts back last week. Two balance tubes.(one short and one long) one oil filler tube(had numerous small dings) and one fuel filter bracket. Cost was $150.00 and that included UPS. Took about 3 weeks as I asked for fast service. Typically I don't rush them. When the plating is done then it's done. They are very good so therefore busy. Low keyed family operation. Not too many of those left you know. John D.- Top
