    1956, a couple of questions

    Hello to all,

    On a '56,
*What is the size of the in line fuse between the radio and speaker power pack?

*Should the emergency brake light activate when the ignition switch is off? Mine does and I am sure I have it attached to the correct spade on the fuse block. It looks like this would run the battery down. If this is wrong as I suspect what am I overlooking?

*Can anyone explain or show me a drawing of how the turn signal cancelling mechanism works in the steering wheel? I am particulary interested in the position of the two little thingies attached to the small coil springs as they relate to the cancelling bar.

    Thanks,
    Steve

Re: 1956, a couple of questions

    Steve,

GM did not put a fuse between the radio and speaker.

No, the E-Brake light should not be be on with the Ign switch off.

Buy a GM "Assembly Instruction Manual" or 'AIM' from the NCRS store on this website. The turn signal wiring diagram should be there.

    Welcome to old Corvette ownership;~)

      Mark,
      Thanks,
I suspected that the e-brake switch should not be on if the ignition switch was off. Now I have to figure out where the problem is.
I was looking for information on the physical installation of the turn signal switch mechanism parts. Neither the AIM or wiring diagram show this.
