6o fuel inj. a/c fender mount plate? location?

I have a 60 fuel car that is missing the side plate that mounts inside the fender well on the left side, it's purpose is to secure the air cleaner assembly. Question is, I ordered a new repo plate from paragon and it comes with 3 rivets, there are only 3 holes in my side fender? The plate has a total of 5 holes( 3 for the rivets and the 2 larger a/c bolts). My fender has the 2 larger holes and 1 smaller center hole for a rivet. Did someone forget to drill the 2 outside holes and figure 1 rivet would hold the plate or is it correct to use just 1 rivet?

One reason I question this is because I also have an unrestored origional 59 fuel car and it also uses just 1 center rivet. It leaves the outside 2 rivet holes never drilled through the body. Sound confusing, I hope not I was trying to decide what is right. Thanks, Bill

    Bill,
Only one rivet in the center between the two a/c mounting holes. Rich

The inner fender has a hole for only one rivet, , yet the supplier of the bracket to GM had three holes in the bracket for rivets. Only the center one was used all the war from 58 up through 62.

Thank you for the answers, that clears up my confusion. I think paragon got me questioning things because in there repo plate they include 3 rivets.

Something in the deep recesses of what passes for my mind is sending a warning note of a "running change" in the methods of attachment for this nut plate. Let me if I can find it.
