    C2 floor mats

Do any of the members know of a source for obtaining used sets of original dealer installed floor mats? I need two sets. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Joe:

I am not sure about finding good, used floor mats. However, new, reproduction mats are available from several Corvette Parts Suppliers. They are quite close to the originals in appearance from what I have seen, although the new mats may not have the correct part numbers or date codes, etc. that are found on originals.

Floor mats were dealer installed items, and therefore are not judged with the car. So there are no judging points involved.

      Larry,

Thank you for the response and I am aware that such items are not judged. I don't want them for judging purposes, I want them simply to satisfy my desire to have a nice set of original mats in my cars. I've seen the reproductions and don't like them as they seem thin and flimsy and have heard that they do not like to lay flat against the footwells. Instead, I've been told they fold down on themselves continually which leads the driver andor passenger to constantly re-position the mats.

        Joe:

The only other suggestion is to place an ad in the DRIVELINE under "Parts Wanted" and hope that someone out there has an original set that they want to sell. I have never seen them listed on E-bay, although you could contact a few of the bigger E-bay Corvette used parts sellers and see what they say.

Good luck in your search. If I ever run across any, I will let you know.

          Joe,
I have an original set [not for sale] that came with my '67. Since they are soooo yellowed, I chose to use reproduction mats purchased from, I think, CC. They lay flat, do not curl, and slip (rarely) only when forced by one foot when getting in the car. I like them because they keep my carpet clean and look good.
          Good luck, Kent
