I have a 1966 coupe that has been done over both inside and out. My concern is that the vent window handles do not fit snug to the door panels (problem is on both sides of the car). There is a white backing disk in place behind the handle, but still have about 3/16"- 1/4" of space. What am I not seeing here?
The door panels dont seem to be warped inwards at all. The other window handles fit okay and look fine. Any ideas??
I could be way off in left field since I got my C1...I seem to remember that the regulators for roadsters had a longer shaft than coupe regulators. Could be wrong units installed on your car?
Check out the article in a past restorer. There are a number of different lengths of the shafts based on coupe vs. convertible, early vs. late. If you don't have the RESTORER, the CD is also available in the NCRS store.
Had same problem on my '67 coupe. Definately check out the archives and the restorer. My understanding is that it could be a combination of repro door panels and/or, as said, the length of the shaft. I know it's irritating. I sold my car before I could correct it. My next try was going to be installing the roadster(shorter shaft) regulators.
