looking for a source for new bowden cable housings . NAPA etc have generic throttle cable asemblies but their products have an OD of about .150" whereas the c-1 cables(Hood release on a 57 in this case) have an OD of .185". thanks, mike

Don't know for sure but maybe a farm implement place or a place that repairs larger mowers or small tractors

Try a set of choke cable assy. Are you replaceing the hood pull cables inner and outer housings?

Mike, There is a guy in MD that makes them out of SS, and they are about the same size as the 50s Chevy stuff. I have the information at the shop. Will get it for you tomorrow if that is what you want.

0.185 is pretty close to 3/16 (0.1875). That sound about right?

I was looking for the internal wire for some and I found some at a lawn mower supply house. Not sure about the diameter though. You could also have some luck at old Motorcycle parts vendors. My old Harley had Throttle and spark Bowden cables. I think there are two different sizes on the Harleys.

jack and ed: google search yields lots of plastic-wrapped bowden cables. 3/16" is about .184". thanks guys. still lookin. mike

Does this help you any? Looks like both lined and unlined bowden cables.
