Roy I like Mr. Trotter look forward to your posts so I can learn from them and not just yours but every members post. However if I see a Roy post or answer I'm reading it. Many many times I do not feel I have the experiernce to respond but jump at the opportunity to learn a new piece abour the car. So keep it up

Roy, Right.....whenever I log on to this TDB every time I scan everything, but whenever I see your name I stop scrolling and click, whatever the topic. I bet many others do too.

p.s. BTW, I had a great time with the judges over the weekend. I was fairly relaxed and some of the judges seemed really stressed. They were getting stressed about some of the wrong things on my 59. I had to calm a few down. I'd say..."hey don't worry, do what you gotta do". Actually I knew most of the issues and even told them a few things that were wrong to help move things along as they were very busy. Kindof like shooting myself in the foot but that's me. I did learn other things too. My attitude was let's have fun and see what's wrong so I can get it right. I guess reading the Restorer and posts all these years taught me much. I had several judges tell me that they really liked my style. Some owners take it extremely seriously and I understand that. I was serious, but fun serious. I guess that's what makes us all different.

I considered

making or buying that fifth piece very seriously, but wile I had the shroud out to replace the brake lines I cleaned and painted it, and there is no doubt the holes were virgin, very clean without the slightest trace of any screw, ever. I decided that either it was eliminated by then (#518 is pretty late) or somebody at the factory left it out, and I'm keeping it that way. The car does not overheat, in fact when we lived in the country my Dad took the fan out for a while.

early strikes also had the little black rubber stops in the back of the cup.
