I'm away from my 18 year stack of Restorer mags so I'm looking for Restorer articles on line. Any ideas? Thanks

Re: Restorer article archives on line?I'm away fro
There is an article index on-line. Click the radio button at the top of this page for "publications." Then scroll down the page that comes up to the second paragraph under "The Corvette Restorer." That paragraph has a link to the story index.
If you are looking to read the story on-line you are out of luck. There should be no Restorer stories on-line due to a little thing called copyright law and intelectual property. Some authors have chosen to put the text and images from their stories on-line, but the layout is copyrighted and is protected.Terry- Top

Re: Copyright stuff
I'm no copyright techno crat but it would seem that if the layout is used which includes a reference to the originating publisher/magazine, it would acknowledge source in contrast to an author that "lifts" text and image and publishes those online?Tom Russo

Re: Copyright stuff
It might be an idea that the NCRS makes this available on our site but for members only... Let's ask the board...

Re: Copyright stuff
Joel,
The CD I have is not utilizing the whole resolution of my monitor (640x480 instead of 1900x1200), are more recent versions working full screen?

My gut tells me no....
And I'll venture it's because the source info was scanned from old copies of original magazines vs. having access to their hand-laid, camera-ready, artwork that originally fed the publisher. Guys like Terry McManmon who were once Captain of the Ship for Restorer might know the whole story here.- Top

Captain of the shiP??
Gee Jack, you flatter me. No reason for that any longer.
The initial scanning was done by the CD house in Cincinnati. I was not involved. I can put some of the pieces together, however.
There was no computer graphics in the early days of publishing The Restorer, as I am sure you know. Only a few of the camera plates used in the early magazines were saved because there was never any intention of reprinting the old issues. I am sure what is on the CD from prior to my editorship was scanned from original magazines.
During the latter part of my term I provided the magazine to the CD house electronically. I would have to look up exactly when I started that, but sometime in 2000 to 2003 range is my best guess. That would have been about the time we started offering The Restorer CD.Terry- Top

Re: Captain of the shiP??
Still it would be nice to upgrade the viewer to show the images using the full resolution of your monitor (while using the original scanned images which might be of a higher resolution anyway but currently reduced to fit the viewer). Although I'm a youngster here (only 40) my eyes are already causing me some problems and with monitor resolution increasing constantly the viewer using only 640x480 is really becoming a pain in the a$$...
