Another question about my 67 cluster. There is heavy black cloth tape over an opening in the cluster housing below the temp gauge. Is this suppose to be there? Thanks.

I think the round cutout below the temp gage is for an illumination bulb socket. Can't think of why it would be taped. Might explain your extra bulb on the left side.

It's not on the flat back of the cluster but rather on the vertical wall (as the cluster is lying face down), just "below" the temp gauge. I will get my digital camera working and see if I can't take some pics. Thanks.- Top

All '67 clusters had that piece of tape - AC applied it over an open slot in the wall of the casting to stop a light leak; the tape fix was cheaper than modifying the die-cast mold.- Top
