    67 BB Engine Removal

I'm going to take the 427 out of my 67 coupe. Several postings in the archives on engine removal contained helpful tips. My question is: Do I need to remove the radiator support if I plan to leave the transmission attached to the block as a unit? Thanks in advance for the help.

        Re: Thanks

You will have to tilt the engine back a bit.

          Re: Thanks

Make sure your engine hoist is capable of lifting the engine high enough to clear the core support?

Remove the distributor, and use a tilter on your hoist.

Much less stress if you remove the rad cradle. *NM*

                  One more question

First, Thanks again for the tips. Do I need to disconnect the drive shaft from the rear end and remove it or will the tranny slide forward enough to get free when I pull the engine. Thanks

                    Re: One more question

Pull the drive shaft and plug the trans output shaft to avoid oil leaking from transmission when tilted
