Re: 1959 convertible top
John,
In 1991 I bought a Al Knoch black top for my 59. I did the install myself, with some guidance over the phone with a NCRS member(can't recall the name but he was a great help). Today 17 years later it still looks and works great, and is correct, as I got minor deducts for originality at Kissimmee last weekend(minor cuz of my installation issues not perfect), along with a repro washing instructions tag! Originals had tag sewn on but mine came off long ago. New ones come with the tag sewn in. Got a few deducts for condition as expected after all.
I've recently bought a black AK top for my 62 project. Can't beat 'em IMO. Make sure you get the correct back window(sewn in) wherever you go, and if your 59 is very early you may want to ask here for correct material type(58 coarse diamond vs 59 finer pin grain).
