C2 floor mats

I apologize for asking so many questions about these mats but someone told me today that the mats for years '66 and '67 were black in color as opposed to the ones I'm accustomed to seeing which are clear (now yellow to orange with age). I've never heard that the dealer installed mats for C2's were black. Is this true? If it is, were the black ones impressed with the JAW logo on their reverse side? Thanks again.

Joe - All the Chevrolet Dealer accessory literature shows the 66 & 67 Corvette floor mats as being clear. I've seen black 63-67 Corvette floor mats but I don't believe they were a "official" Chevrolet item. Pete

My dealer provided original 1967 Corvette mats were probably clear at one time. They are, according to several others, thicker than the reproductions available today. Black mats were not available in 1967 and I doubt in 1966 either. Sounds like Studebaker confusion to me.

agree with pete and kent. all c-2's were clear , thicker, less pliable and taking on a yellow hue at this point in their life ./mike

is typically associated with Shark era Corvettes...
