63 Seat - Front lower brackets??

Hi,

Pics are driver side but both seats identical. Can't seem to find info on these. AIM says 3843263-4 on left, with a blank for the right but says it's for L or R. Can't be as they're different mount hole locations. Looks like the book is wrong, there must be left and right #'s. The AIM shows a blank for item #15. Maybe right side?

We need a pair for the passenger side seat. PO used hardware store brackets. No one appears to repro them. 63 only with nowhere to go?

Any help locating a pair would be great. Thanks........Rich

Rick, I believe you are correct, they are not reproduced anywhere. In a 63 the drivers seat and the passenger seat is identical, therefore you just need a right and a left bracket. The bracket was there to allow the owner to adjust the height of the seat an inch or so.

They come up on eBay infrequently and when the do they do get a bit pricey. You can also call Paragon and ask for the Vintage department. They have a Corvette boneyard out back that they can get parts from. Just be ready for some sticker-shock.

I believe the AIM means that part #3843263 is for the left and #3843264 is for the right. The "3-4" indicates to me the trailing digit would vary.

I hope smarter guys than me will be along soon to clarify.

Yes, Bill when a part number is shown like, 3844363-4, it means left hand #3843263, and right hand 3843264 parts.

I don't really understand what you mean by, "The "3-4" indicates to me the trailing digit would vary".

I meant like what you said.... the "3" part is one side and the "4" part is the other side. Thanks for the clarification.

Bill/Art, Thanks for clearing my brain. Makes perfect sense now. I guess after 20 years of looking at my 59 AIM I need to go to school on the 63 AIM.

So it lloks like I'll need to search around for these rare parts. I'll check out Paragon with a call too, thanks Harry.
