    1959 TRANSMISSION

Can anyone tell me if 59s had the year stamped into the main body or just the month and day. THANKS

    Glen -

The stamped ID adjacent to the side cover has the month, day, year, and shift.

Are we talking "3 Speeds", "4 Speeds" or "Automatics"?
I looked on my original '59 3 speed and didn't see any stamped date codes.

        Glen,

In case John's answer leaves your question unanswered, you might be talking about casting date.

So just in case, your phrase "Stamped into the main body" leaves out the cast information for the case. On the 59 the casting date is in the format of month & date.

Others may be able to tell you exactly when the Month, Date & Year numbers began to appear. I have a 62 case with these three in it.

        I hope I have helped.
