Nice Dutch Ad (The Vette is not forgotten)

ING Car Lease published a very nice 'See you in 2008!' add in their Automotive Management Oliebollen Special:

    Tot ziens in 2008!

Sweet, but I would hate to have to drive ANY corvette, nevermind a solid axle, in the snow

Drive a C1 in the winter?

Winter of 1966/67. When you are only 17 you will drive a Corvette any chance you get. From then I was hooked.

Nice!!! Did you put on snow tires, or just take off the wheel covers? I just think of the way my 61 stops on dry pavement and can't imagine it in the snow... but if not for the salt, I woulf take it out, practice my sideways driving

Jim, if I remember right it had 4 snows. Car belonged to my dad's cousin. We traded cars for a weekend, he needed my '57 chev sedan delivery to move something. I would not DARE drive my '59 in the summer the way I drove that '62 in the winter. Something to do with older, wiser etc.

              C1s in the Snow

When I got my '62 in 1974, it was just a second car. Drove it all year round. I particularly remember driving it one Winter in Boston. Had a set of L78 studded snow tires on some aftermarket wheel. Also had air shocks. Don't remember if I had to pump up the rear to get the tires to fit. With studded snow tires and the Positraction rear, it went pretty good in the snow. Don't remember the stopping part. I do remember driving up the Killington access road one day in my '62 with the "rocket launcher" ski rack on the trunk thinking I was slicker than cat skat until I saw a '56 or '57 coming down the other way.
