Would glass beading the tail housing (429 thin rib)of a 1964 muncie transmission result in NCRS judging points deductions? I found one for my car, but it has already been glass beaded (not sandblasted). It's a 429 housing - thin rib and they are kind of hard to find.
Also, the tail housing I took off my transmission had one broken shifter mounting thread boss, one broken mounting to the frame thread boss and one shifter thread hole that had a bolt driven too deep into the hole resulting in a crack on the inside of the housing where the bolt was "punching" through the housing.
Is this tail housing fixable such that it will be as strong as original? Or will fixing the broken and cracked thread holes be as strong (mounting wise) as when it was new?
Thanks, Patrick
