Please turn off your caps lock key - caps are considered to be shouting.
Nobody who does "re-skinning" for a living is going to tell you anything about the process, beyond the fact that it's tumbling, for obvious reasons. No protective coating is used on the finished part.- Top

Re: ALUMINUM MANIFOLD FINISH
I don't know either Dan but you can bet that it's a pretty simple and easy process because as John says, those that are doing it aren't talking.
....if it was a complicated, long, drawn out process that needed specialized equipment then it wouldn't be such a secret.
Are you 100% positive that a ceramic media is used?- Top

Re: ALUMINUM MANIFOLD FINISH
Greg,
"Are you 100% positive that a ceramic media is used ?"
Assuming that question was directed at me , the answer is No !
When I sent my manifold to Jerry Mcneish ,I asked him what he did, and all he would tell me was that it was tumbled in a "ceramic media" . I am taking his word for it. I know noting beyond what he told me.
