    1958 fuelie C1

I am the proud owner of a 1958 Corvette Fuelie. I have a fuel injection unit problem. The engine starts, runs very rough and rich (the exhaust smells like gas, and the whole car shakes, and when it warms up it dies. This happened after a shop worked on my interior (Al Knoch), and wound up messing with the fuel injection system. The cable from the distributor to the fuel injection pump snapped, and the mechanic replaced the cable, but also lifted the fuel injection system up off the engine.

Does anyone know what might be wrong with the engine/fuel injection system based on this description?

    Regards,
    Pete Smith

Check your cranking signal valve for starters.
