Title Search C6 Z06

I'm ready to do a Title search for a 2006 Z06. One owner. I'm the 2nd owner of the car. I have the GM VIS all done previously. I know where the car was built,when,where delivered and build sheet info. Also any the shop time documented.

It's a one car owner Z06 from Falls Church Va. Purchased 04/04/2006 and as said i know the dealerships name. Any help appreciated. Closest Virginia DMV is 10-15 minutes away. Small town atmosphere so maybe that will help.

My last adventure into researching a Title was on my 67 L71 in 1999 and that was several months of getting no where then stroke gold. It was well worth the time spent because I hooked up with the original dealerships son who now owns that same Chevy dealership and was friends(cruised together)with the orginal owner. Got a letter from him on the car and was really interesting story behind the cars orginal owner.

I know this is a new car but like most of us even the new ones deserve a paper trail because someday if they are lucky enough to get to make 20-30 years old they'll have a story to tell. Just keeping up a good tradition I leaned as an NCRS member.

FYI, the 06-07 coupes had roof panel issues (came loose,heard some detached) so if your looking at one or a friend is do a VIS summary at the local GM service dept. Make sure the coupe had the roof panel addressed. The VIS will show where they were called for by GM. This one the roof panel was replaced which is the correct and permanent fix. Just some info to pocket to future owners.

Orignal owners Title copy for a binder or history on the car. Anyone have experience with the state of VA. DMV for Title searches?

I've gotten them for two other Z06's an 02 and 03 which I know these are newer cars but someone has to start the ball rolling on these cars history. You'd be amazed even a car 2-3 years old how many owners/delaships/states they can go through and they end up in. Staggering. My 02 Z06 I was the second owner,then two dealerships had it in a months time. I got Titles from all and this was by Nov. 2001.It had just 300 miles on it. The 03 Z06 had 362 miles on it when I sold it. All documented. Owned by a company Exec.Rep. and never driven but his dealership was ready to auction it off. It had gone from Texas to PA.via dealership franchise of several outlets. I wanted to know why the car had only 356 miles on it in Nov. 2005. I did the binder trip and found out it too had a story to tell.I only kepteh car two months and never drove it because of the snow up here. Even new cars if the owner is a car guy or gal documentation helps.

As I said one day if these cars get the right people to maintain them and survive it's nice to see 15-20 years from now where the cars been. My 67 had a gap of 25 yrs. of no records but it had to been somewhere.

New or old I just make up binders on the cars. I can usually get a lot of stuff on the newer cars from the NCM. Newer cars are much easier by long a shot to get documentation started. Then it's the future owners that have to keep that up once they leave my hands.
